HB 854 Reported from Senate Finance

HB 854 has been reported with amendment from the Senate Finance Committee.

The mental health courts are a new pilot program.  The amendment would limit the establishment of the new courts to jurisdictions where the local community services board will agree to provide services necessary for the establishment of such courts, and where the district court or circuit court agrees to establish a mental health court.

HB 1962 Will Cross Over to the Senate

HB 196has been referred to the Senate Committee on Courts of Justice.  The bill declares that all court orders in violation of current registration requirements for sex offenders are null and void.

HB 1928 Will Cross Over to the Senate

HB 1928 was referred to the Senate Committee for Courts of Justice on February 5, 2009.  The bill would require registered sex offenders to notify the Registry of any significant changes in appearance or any change in their Internet protocol address.
